Hello and Welcome to the Winanjjikari Music Centre's brand new podcast. Watch this space as we will be uploading the first podcast in a few days time. We come to you all the way from Tennant Creek which is located 500km north of Alice Springs in Australia.

We will be introducing you to some of the local artists from the Tennant Creek area and also the Barkly region. We will feature interveiws with the artists who are mainly from aboriginal backgrounds. We will also be sharing there music with the world.

The Winanjjikari Music Centre is an "Australian first" Project and it is designed to teach the Aboriginal communities new skills in music and music production. Winanjjikari means "Singing for belonging" in Aboriginal.

There is currently an official website in the development stages and that will feature LIVE video feeds so you will be able to look into the centre and the BRAND NEW recording studio at any time and watch the music sessions as they happen. The podcast will give you an idea of the different cultures that are found within Tennant Creek and the Barkly region and the unique sounds that can be heard within the area.
